Reiki is a healing practice developed by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui in 1922 and has since been adapted by various teachers of a variety of traditions. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind, and spirit. It has many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. Reiki energy is regarded as life energy at its most effective; when it reaches the maximum vibration. The techniques of Reiki involve transferring this universal energy through the palms and sensing this vibration. This helps the practitioner to balance and bring the body into its natural state of self-healing and equilibrium. Reiki energy is considered to have an almost divine quality and as such includes everything. In a world where problems and disorders are deemed to be due to the feeling of detachment from the world, Reiki reunites us with its natural forces, creating a profoundly deep healing.
Deep tissue massage is designed to release severe tension in the muscle and connective tissues (fascia). Deep tissue massage is effective because of its technique - consisting of slower, stronger massage that stimulates deep into muscles. This can be especially helpful for athletes who expose their muscles to daily, intensive conditioning. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for people who experience chronic pain, are involved in strenuous physical activity, or have persistent physical injury. Because this type of massage focuses on the release of muscle tension and knots, also called adhesions, it can break up and eliminate scar tissue from previous injuries. A common problem with these injures is that stressed muscles block nutrients and oxygen from circulating normally and the resulting inflammation causes toxins to build up in the tissues. Deep tissue massage breaks up and releases built-toxins by loosing the muscles. This can free clients from the chronic pain that plagues these types of injuries. It is highly recommended to come properly hydrated and drink plenty of water after your session.
Craniosacral therapy maintains the link between fluid in the head and the sacrum. The rhythm of the fluid that flows between these areas can be detected like a pulse. This rhythm is known as the concept of "primary respiration". The primary respiratory mechanism can be summarized by five main ideas: Inherent motility of the central nervous system, fluctuation of the cerebrospinal fluid, mobility of the intracranial and intraspinal dural membranes, mobility of the cranial bones, and involutay motion of the sacrum between the ilia. Regulating the flow of cerebrospinal fluid can be achieved by using light therapeutic touch to manipulate the synarthrodila joints of the cranium. This treatment normalizes, balances, and gets rid of blockages in various systems throughout the body. With the blockages removed, the body can function in a healthy manner.
Lomi Lomi Massage
Lomi Lomi massage is a Hawaiian massage that focuses on healing touch to release blockages within the body, the mind and the emotions. In the Hawaiian language, "lomi" traditionally means: to rub, knead, press, squeeze, massage; to work in and out, as the claws of a contented cat. The techniques of Lomi Lomi massage focus on long, continuous, flowing strokes, using the forearm as well as the hands. These gentle techniques work deeply into the muscles, totally nurturing the body, and enabling the recipient to relax, let go, and open up to deep contentment. This state of bliss enables both the mind and body to heal naturally. When harmony is lacking the effect is pain physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually. Illness is a state of tension, which leads to resistance which blocks energy movement. Lomi Lomi helps release this and therefore facilitates the road to healing. On the physical level, through Lomi Lomi stress and tension are relieved, blood and lymph flow assisted and the elimination of wastes and toxins stimulated.
